You can buy it or take it as a service. As a service, expanding an existing connection starts at €975 per month for 125 kW; a new connection starts at €1,350 per month. If you buy, the investment is higher but the lifetime cost is usually lower, and the investment often qualifies for the Dutch EIA scheme. We put both side by side.

No — that is your choice. Under the service model we finance, install, manage and monitor the system and you pay a fixed monthly fee. If you would rather have it on the balance sheet, you buy it and we still handle design, installation and management.

Your grid charges are driven by capacity, not consumption: by the contracted transport capacity and by your highest measured peak. If the battery shaves that peak you can lower your contracted capacity, and that bill falls structurally. For many businesses the saving already covers most of the monthly fee.

Usually straight away, because the saving on grid charges sits against the monthly fee. Whether that holds for you depends on your peak profile — which is exactly what the capacity check works out.

A capaciteitssturingscontract has been the successor to the CBC since May 2026 and is often the fastest route to capacity: if you are in the queue, it lets you agree temporary extra capacity. The question is not whether to sign but whether you can bridge the agreed moments. With a correctly sized battery you can, without your production noticing. Have it worked through before you sign.

A contract committing you to offer your flexible capacity as soon as the grid operator expects congestion at short notice; requests run through GOPACS. You receive a fixed monthly availability fee — even if you are never called — plus a payment per call-off. It is shortly being renamed a redispatch contract. For anyone who already has a battery, this is a line of income.

Blokstroom is the common name for a tijdsblokgebonden transportrecht (TBTR). You get extra transport capacity inside a fixed time window — with the regional grid operators that is currently overnight, from 00:00 to 06:00. Outside that window nothing about your connection changes. On its own that is worth little to a business that runs by day; with a battery that fills up inside the window and supplies during the day, that night capacity becomes usable. Available since April 2025 from Enexis, Stedin and Liander among others.

Expanding your usable capacity behind the meter changes nothing about your connection, so no new connection and no queue are involved. For a new or heavier connection there is an offer and a contract from the grid operator. We test that feasibility before making a proposal.

If you already have a connection, about three months after signing is realistic; work on site usually takes a single day. If a new or heavier connection is needed, allow 6 to 18 months — depending on your grid operator and on what is possible in your grid area.

That depends on the capacity and the layout that suits your site. It is one of the things we cover in the capacity check, so you have the answer before there is a proposal.

In the capacity check we look not only at your current profile but at your growth plans, so the system is sized for them. Our systems run from 125 kW to well over 10 MW, so there is room to scale.

We do, under both models. Monitoring runs 24/7 and maintenance is part of the contract — including when you own the system yourself.
